Well, that sounds great on paper but what about in real life. Most of us assume our job search needs to be practical and it many ways it does. You need to earn money to pay your bills and support your family. But could there be more to it? What if you can have both? Here are some ways to find a job that you truly love and enjoy going to every day.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Think about what you want to do.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Before you can know what jobs will suit you best, you need to know what it is that you really want to do. This is the time you revisit that childhood question of, \u201cwhat do you want to be when you grow up?\u201d What do you enjoy? How can you translate that into a job?<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Find and work with a mentor.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Once you know what you would like to do, take time to develop a relationship with a mentor or an accountability group. A mentor is someone who has successfully done what it is that you are looking to do. You can learn from their mistakes, ask them for advice, and generally get a feeling about what it is like to pursue this career. An accountability group can kick start your process and be your cheerleader.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Network in that community.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>It is also a good idea to expand your network as far as it can reach. Start in your own backyard and check out local networking groups that can help you accomplish your goals. Then, take your networking online by following people on LinkedIn, Facebook and Twitter.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Get experience without money.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>If you make your career search only about money, you may find that you are less fulfilled in the long run. Instead, start out by gaining experience through volunteering. This will help you establish a resume that is better suited toward getting a job in the field that you really want.<\/li>\n<li>\n<h3><strong>Brand yourself.<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>When you do all of these things, you\u2019ll be in the perfect position to create a brand for yourself and make your skills marketable. Create a website where you can blog and position yourself as a leader on this topic.
